"Dat my new house!"

It hadn't worked out for me to take the boys to the house the last few times I had gone. It was either too cold, rainy, or I needed to get more things done than I could with two little boys.

So Thursday afternoon, mom and dad helped me pack up the boys and we drove to BG. Mom and dad hadn't seen the house either, so they were able to get to see all the progress firsthand, too.

When we drove up, Cash was asleep, but as soon as his eyes popped open, he exclaimed to Grandad, "Dat my new house!" He knew exactly where we were!

Home, sweet home! (or it will be)

Baylen LOVED walking around the house.

He especially loved walking in between the studs.

Once we talked Cash into bypassing the mud (forgot his boots), he explored every inch of the place. This ramp was wobbly and fun - right up his alley...

Although it would seem that this broom is too big for a 10 month-old, Baylen proved that he could handle it.

I tried to get a picture of the whole family upstairs, but Heath got a phone call and Cash was obsessed with a pile of sawdust.

As soon as we got back outside, it was very clear that we weren't going to keep Cash out of the mud - even without his mud boots.

He helped Heath "Spread dat gravel."

B loved feeling the dirt on his fingers. We had a hard time keeping the gravel out of his mouth, though.

The mud didn't stop our little walker, but he walked without stooping to pick up rocks when Heath had his fingers.

Again, the family picture didn't happen, but doesn't this picture say a lot?

What does this picture say?
"No, B! Don't put gravel in your mouth!"

Poor kid.

Can you tell what happened here? Boy with shovel got too close to mud and lost shoe. Daddy came to the rescue.

Too bad these shoes were supposed to be his "good shoes."
(I tossed them in the washer -- brand new!)

Mom and dad just laughed. Oh, what's that in the background?

Yes, Heath and Cash had to "do some work" in the backhoe before we left.
Cash was in heaven!

I thought this was hilarious. Isn't this against the Amish by-laws?

I think these two wanted to go for a ride, too, but decided to just watch.

That was Thursday. Friday they set the windows and moved the bonus room wall back three feet. Heath has roofers, plumbers, and the septic tank guy set to come this week. Anyone want to take a guess on the estimated move in month?
