Mud Puddles: 101

 I. Attire

First you will need a pair of waterproof boots. It is suggested that you tuck your pants into these boots (monkeys optional).

You will also need a warm jacket, preferably with a hood. If you can't find your second pocket, it's acceptable to stick your other hand in your back pocket.

Last, but most importantly, you must wear a smile.

II. Technique

These are only some basics when it comes to dealing with mud puddles. You will have to adjust to accommodate certain situations according to skill and size of the puddle.

Here we are dealing with a proficient two year old and a medium size puddle.

First there is the traditional "stomping." It uses one foot at a time to pass through the puddle. The harder the stomp, the higher the mud splashes. (Mothers should not fret over mud on pants. Stain stick makers had boys in mind when creating their product.)

Second is the more advanced two-foot jump. This takes a bit more concentration, and as seen in these pictures, creates much more splash.

Uncontrollable giggling and lots of "Mommy, mommy, watch!" is also acceptable.

III. Clean-up

One must take great care in this last part of mud puddle jumping. Pants can be shed once inside the back door, and always take off your boots before walking on carpet.

** Reporting your practice of the day to daddy is always important as well.

Ok, so I am thinking that Cash needs to graduate to waders for all his mud slinging. Those monkey boots are just not getting it with his talented mud stomping. Just saying... Maura
