A baseball tradition

Labor Day weekend of 1999 ... where were you? I remember where I was, and I can probably tell you where I've been every Labor Day weekend since then. In 1999, I was with my dad at Yankee Stadium, enjoying a game, eating hot dogs, and sharing America's greatest game.

I'm not sure if it was during that trip or sometime in the next year, but we decided that we would take on the challenge of seeing a game at each baseball park. Oh, no, not in one year like some people do, but in the course of the next how many ever years, we wanted to see each team play a home game.

Here's how the next few years went:
2000 - Camden Yards to see the Baltimore Orioles
2001 - Busch Stadium to see the St. Louis Cardinals
2002 - Minute Maid Park to watch the Houston Astros
2003 - Wrigley Field to see the Chicago Cubs
2004 - Skydome to see the Toronto Blue Jays
2005 - Coors Field to see the Colorado Rockies
2006 - RFK Stadium to see the Washington Nationals and Citizens Bank Park to see the Phillies
2007 - Metrodome to see the Twins
2008 - Comerica Park to see Detroit Tigers and Progressive Field to see the Cleveland Indians
2009 - Kauffman Stadium to watch the Kansas City Royals
2010 - Busch Stadium to see the Cardinals (new stadium)

Here are some pictures:

2008 - at 9 weeks old here's Cash in on the tradition

2009 - Kansas City to see the Royals

2010 - and here's the crew at St. Louis last year (B is around 5 1/2 months old here)

There are 30 baseball parks, and as we count it we've been to 21 together (I've been to see the Diamondbacks without dad, and he's been to see the Brewers without me.) Obviously, we've been to some other ball parks throughout the years other than on Labor Day weekend. We're getting close.

So where are we this weekend? We're enjoying some baseball together, eating some hot dogs, and planning our trip for the next year ... in Tampa.
