Let's build a fort!

From day to day, the boys and I do a number of different things to pass the time and, of course, have some fun. We get out the Play-doh, we do "school games," we go to the library, we visit the gravel pile downstairs, we have playdates - the list could really go on and on. But honestly, there is nothing that compares to time with daddy, and honestly, the two four-day weekends that Heath had during Christmas and New Years spoiled us all.

I have always known that Heath was a cool dad. I knew that the boys admired him and loved every thing he loved - tools, the outdoors, hunting, animals, guns, etc. But one thing that they also love about their daddy is his ability to build forts, and not just a blanket over a table, but a really awesome fort. It's quite often that you'll hear Cash say, "Let's build a fort, daddy!" or B might just say, "Fort daddy!"

Take a look at their latest fort adventure with daddy:

Yes, every pillow from our bedroom and the couches in the living room, a few blankets, three cardboard boxes, two little chairs and a lot of imagination, and wah-lah! The ultimate fort!

Here's B and Heath in one of the "hide-outs."

Heath and I's entire bedroom was turned into a playground. There were places to crawl under, hide-outs, tunnels, and a wall surrounding it all.

There was even a Baylen-sized nook.

Ha, ha! Can anyone find daddy?

They played in it all morning. We would play hide and seek, run through it, and at one time, there was some sock-throwing wars going on.

Yes, I'll have to agree. Daddy is a pretty cool guy, and he's definitely an awesome fort builder!

Hate to say it but... what my guys would have give to have a dad that would "play" with them instead of working all the time. I bet if he could go back in time he'd spent more time playing. Cherish this guy Kasey, he's a real catch.
