Chaney's with friends

On Monday, May 7th, we picked back up with our field trips with friends. We hadn't planned one in awhile, but we knew that Chaney's Dairy Barn on the south side of the county was definitely on our list. Some of the field trips that were planned only involved a handful of kiddos, but this trip was a very popular get together! Lots of friends gathered that morning to take a hay-ride, meet a cow or two, and eat some ice cream. Of course, there was some learning and playing mixed in there, too.

Here's a sweet family that we've become friends with at Rich Pond. Sarah, John Thomas and Peter were there enjoying the field trip, too. Cash and John Thomas are pretty big buddies.

If I have this right, these three guys have birthdays all within just a few weeks! John Thomas, Isaac and Cash will all be four this summer. What a fun blessing it will be to see these three grow up together!

We filed into the barn and sat on hay bales. Mr. Chaney brought in Ms. Glimmer to help teach us a little about cows, milk and ice cream!

She was, in all seriousness, a pet. Here he is scratching her neck and loving on her.

All the front row kiddos got a kick out of Mr. Chaney trying to squirt them with milk from her udder. Hilarious!

Seems like a pretty content cow to me!

While Isaac and Cash were excited to rub Ms. Glimmer, Balyen preferred to keep his distance.

B wasn't shy, though, when it came to petting the calf outside though.

Charlie and Laura were there, too. Charlie was dancing here -- excited to see the baby cow!

After the field trip, we turned all the little ones lose on the slides and swings. Here's Cash waiting for John Thomas.
